In a heartfelt message to fans, Ben Rosenzweig, the influential figure behind Triestina Calcio, expressed deep gratitude and outlined his vision for the future after a tumultuous inaugural season.

“I want to thank everyone associated with the club for a memorable first season in Trieste,” Rosenzweig said. “I am especially grateful for our loyal fans, who have been incredibly supportive through our early development, even while enduring the hardship of an extended absence from our beloved Stadio Nereo Rocco.”

The sentiment comes on the heels of a season fraught with logistical challenges, most notably the near-constant displacement that saw Triestina playing 33 of their 38 matches away from home. Despite these hurdles, the team managed a commendable fourth-place finish, narrowly missing promotion to Serie B.

“The situation with our stadium was extremely challenging for our players as well,” Rosenzweig noted. “I have never seen a season where a team had to play 33 of 38 matches away from home. A fourth-place finish under those circumstances is admirable.”

Rosenzweig acknowledged the duality of their season’s outcome: pride in the significant strides made by the organization, both on and off the pitch, and the disappointment of falling short of their ultimate goal. “Two things can both be true – we can be very proud of the progress that we’ve made as an organization, both on the field and off, in less than one year, while also being disappointed that we didn’t achieve our sporting goals despite reaching the promotion play-offs.”

Optimism, however, permeates Rosenzweig’s outlook for the future. With the experience of this challenging season under their belts, he anticipates further improvements in the coming year. “Next year we will have the benefit of this season’s experience, and I expect continued improvement, on and off the pitch. There are many things to look forward to next year and we cannot wait to be back in our stadium.”

Reaffirming his commitment to the fans and the city, Rosenzweig emphasized the importance of direct communication and engagement with the Trieste community. “When I am in Trieste, I look forward to reconnecting with our fans. It’s important for me to hear directly from you, and for you to hear directly from me.”

Rosenzweig’s message concluded on a note of determination and belief in Trieste’s potential. “We are just getting started. I came to Trieste because this city has everything necessary to compete at the highest level. It is now incumbent on us to build the team to take us there. I truly believe that we are ideally positioned to execute on our goals.”

With gratitude, he signed off, “Thank you again for your continued support and trust. Forza Unione!”

As the club looks ahead, fans and players alike can take solace in Rosenzweig’s unwavering vision and commitment to a brighter future for Triestina Calcio.
