This June, the Society of Concerts Trieste will present the “Estate in Musica 2024” series, featuring four concerts across Friuli Venezia Giulia. This initiative, running from June 8 to June 29, is supported by the Directorate General for Entertainment of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and several local partners.

The series will commence on June 8 at Miramare Castle with a concert that also inaugurates the national festival “Musica con Vista.” The festival, in collaboration with the AMUR Committee, aims to bring classical music to some of Italy’s most picturesque locations. These concerts, featuring young, accomplished musicians, will take place in historic and scenic sites such as villages, historic homes, gardens, and cultural landmarks. Each performance will be paired with unique local experiences, including tastings, excursions, and guided walks, organized in cooperation with various cultural and tourism organizations.

The “Estate in Musica 2024” series includes the following events:

  • June 8: The opening concert at Miramare Castle, featuring the Goldberg Quartet, will showcase works by Giuseppe Verdi and Maurice Ravel. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will move indoors to the Throne Room of the castle.
  • June 15: Pianist Teodora Kapinkovska will perform at the Giuseppe Verdi Theater in Muggia, playing pieces by Beethoven and Schumann.
  • June 22: The Eos Quartet will play at the Barbieri Adele Agricultural Company – Tenuta Della Casa in Cormons. The program includes works by Dimitrij Shostakovich, Filippo del Corno, and Johannes Brahms. This event is part of the “Musica con Vista” festival.
  • June 29: Cellist Isabella Isaia will close the series at the same venue in Cormons, performing pieces by Bach, Cassadò, and contemporary composers Crumb and Sollima.

The venues selected for the series include the historic Miramare Castle, the Giuseppe Verdi Theater in the charming village of Muggia, and the Barbieri Adele Agricultural Company – Tenuta Della Casa in Cormons, nestled among the hills and vineyards of the Collio Goriziano region. The concerts in Cormons will also feature wine tastings of local products.

Following a successful 92nd concert season, Piero Lugnani, President of the Society of Concerts Trieste, expressed enthusiasm for the summer series and the upcoming second edition of the “Festival di Trieste – Il Faro della Musica,” set to bring internationally renowned artists to Trieste in September.

Tickets and subscriptions for the “Estate in Musica 2024” series can be purchased at the Society of Concerts Trieste’s office, online through Vivaticket, or at the concert venues on the night of each performance. Discounts are available for society members and those purchasing subscriptions.
