In honor of the 70th anniversary of Trieste’s reintegration into Italy, the regional government has announced a €50,000 grant program to support events commemorating this historic milestone. The initiative was unveiled by the Vice Governor for Culture and Sports following the approval of the grant by the regional council.
The funding aims to incentivize cultural projects celebrating the seventieth anniversary of Trieste’s return to Italy. Eligible applicants include public and private non-profit cultural organizations, religious entities, and cultural cooperatives within the region, with the exception of the Municipality of Trieste, which will receive a separate allocation for similar purposes.
Eligible projects encompass a wide range of cultural activities, including events, festivals, live performances, concerts, film screenings, exhibitions, and the promotion of humanistic culture. All events must be conducted within the jurisdiction of Trieste’s Edr (the territory of the former Province of Trieste).
Applications for funding will cover 100% of project costs, with grants ranging from €10,000 to €30,000. Projects must have commenced on or after January 1, 2024, and must be completed by June 30, 2025.
The call for applications opened on June 3, and submissions are accepted until July 15, 2024, via certified email (PEC). The Vice Governor emphasized the administration’s commitment to finalizing the process and approving the grant recipients by the end of July.
This initiative reflects the regional government’s dedication to celebrating Trieste’s cultural heritage and historical significance, fostering a vibrant cultural landscape in honor of this landmark anniversary.
