Italian confectionery giant Ferrero is set to delight fans this summer with the launch of Nutella Ice Cream, hitting supermarket shelves across Italy from the start of June.
The new gelato offering, a tantalizing twist on the beloved hazelnut chocolate spread, arrives three years after Ferrero successfully ventured into the ice cream market with Ferrero Rocher and Raffaello ice cream sticks, as well as Estathé Ice lollies. Nutella Ice Cream will be available in a 230g tub, retailing at €4.99, just in time to offer a cool respite during the warmer months.
“Nutella Ice Cream is a frozen delight that combines the iconic and familiar taste of Nutella with a surprising twist of textures inside,” said Alessandro Paleni, Ferrero’s regional ice cream marketing manager, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to innovation while preserving the essence of its classic flavors.
This launch comes on the heels of Nutella’s 60th anniversary. First introduced in Italy on April 20, 1964, Nutella has since become a global phenomenon, cherished by millions for its rich, creamy consistency and distinctive hazelnut flavor.
Ferrero’s history of product innovation has been marked by significant milestones. Five years ago, the company introduced Nutella Biscuits in Italy, which became an instant success. With 47 million packets sold in the first year, Ferrero initially struggled to meet the overwhelming demand, underscoring the brand’s enduring popularity and market influence.
As Nutella Ice Cream makes its debut, anticipation runs high. If past product launches are any indication, Ferrero is poised to capture the hearts and taste buds of ice cream enthusiasts and Nutella aficionados alike, adding yet another chapter to its storied legacy of sweet success.
