In a fitting crescendo to the acclaimed Kosmos exhibition, Miramare Park will host a grand musical event on Sunday, June 16th, at 8 PM. The performance, organized by the Tartini Conservatory in collaboration with the Miramare Historical Museum, promises to be a breathtaking homage to the legendary pianist and composer, Sergei Rachmaninov.
Headlining the event will be the renowned Archi del Tartini ensemble, accompanied by the virtuosic piano soloist, Andrea Virtuoso. Under the baton of the young Ukrainian conductor, David Kulikov, the evening will resonate with Rachmaninov’s timeless melodies against the backdrop of the picturesque Miramare Castle.
The concert program will feature some of Rachmaninov’s most beloved compositions, including “Vocalise” from the 14 Romances, Op. 34, arranged for strings by F. Fani, and the iconic Second Piano Concerto, Op. 18, arranged for piano and strings by Andrea Virtuoso himself. These selections promise to encapsulate Rachmaninov’s profound musical legacy, from the hauntingly beautiful “Vocalise” to the majestic brilliance of the Second Piano Concerto.
Notably, the performance will also showcase the exceptional talents of Andrea Virtuoso, a rising star in the classical music scene. With accolades ranging from his stellar piano performances to his groundbreaking compositions, Virtuoso embodies the essence of musical excellence.
Equally impressive is the conductor, David Kulikov, whose meteoric rise in the world of orchestral conducting has captivated audiences worldwide. Born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, Kulikov’s journey to Trieste, where he now hones his craft at the Tartini Conservatory, underscores the universality of music in transcending borders and fostering cultural exchange.
Moreover, the concert’s significance extends beyond its musical offerings. As a finale to the Kosmos exhibition, attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of knowledge and exploration embodied by the exhibition until 11 PM. This synergy between music and intellectual pursuit epitomizes the ethos of Miramare’s cultural initiatives, fostering enrichment and enlightenment in equal measure.
