In a city renowned for its historic architecture and scenic views, the transformation of Palazzo Kalister into a four-star hotel is back on track after a hiatus caused by soaring raw material prices in late 2021.

Located just steps from Trieste’s Central Station, the palatial building is poised to become a new landmark in Piazza Libertà. The construction efforts, managed by the Turin-based company Sacco, specialize in the restoration and renovation of historic buildings.

The renovation, initially delayed by economic turbulence, has resumed with an ambitious timeline. The project is slated for completion by the end of 2025, with a possible extension into early 2026. Over the next 18 months, Sacco, utilizing a towering crane as seen in footage by Andrea Lasorte, will be focused on crafting 104 luxurious rooms within the expansive 5,000 square meters of Palazzo Kalister.

This ambitious project marks a significant milestone in Trieste’s ongoing efforts to blend its rich historical heritage with modern luxury, promising to offer future guests an exquisite stay in one of Italy’s most charming cities.

As the city anticipates the completion of this significant transformation, Palazzo Kalister is set to enhance Trieste’s appeal, offering a new touch of elegance and comfort in the heart of the historic city.
