The Throne Room of Miramare Castle will soon resonate with the elegant strains of classical music as part of the esteemed “Evening Harmonies” series. On June 21, the 30th edition of the Festa della Musica, an international event heralding the summer solstice across Europe, will be celebrated with a captivating performance by the acclaimed Sollini – Barbatano Duo.

This concert is part of the prestigious Wanderer musical festival, which curates performances in some of Italy’s most culturally significant and picturesque locales. The Miramare event is the result of a collaboration between the Miramare Museum’s administration and the Ministry of Culture, designed to offer an evening of musical splendor.

The star performers, pianists Marco Sollini and Salvatore Barbatano, have graced some of the world’s most revered stages. Hailed by international critics as “Italy’s twenty golden fingers,” this duo promises an enchanting program. Their repertoire for the evening includes Gabriel Fauré’s charming Dolly Suite, Marco Sollini’s own suite Babies’ Corner, featuring eight whimsical dances including a fox-trot and a mambo, and Sergei Rachmaninov’s 6 Morceaux op.11, a suite that conjures the spirit of the composer’s homeland.

The concert begins at 9 PM, following an extraordinary extension of the museum’s visiting hours until 11 PM. This allows guests ample time to explore the stunning Miramare Castle before the performance.

Tickets for the museum are priced at €12, with standard reductions applicable. Concert tickets are available for €8. A combined ticket for both the museum and concert is offered at €20, with a reduced rate of €10 for young adults aged 18-25. Entry is free for eligible individuals as per legal provisions, with a concert-only ticket priced at €8.

Due to limited seating, reservations are mandatory. Interested attendees must secure their spot by emailing eventi.miramare@cultura.gov.it. Reservations will be confirmed via email.

“Evening Harmonies,” an initiative born in the Marche region, enjoys the High Patronage of the President of the Republic. This series has a long-standing tradition of bringing great music to Italy’s most enchanting sites, and the upcoming concert at Miramare promises to be a highlight of the season.
