This summer, 24 young men and women, aged 19 to 21, have embarked on a transformative journey to Friuli Venezia Giulia. These participants, selected from various states across the United States, will immerse themselves in the rich heritage of their forebears until June 29.
The visit, meticulously organized by NIAF, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Italian history, language, and culture in the United States which serves as a cornerstone for the approximately 20 million Americans of Italian descent, is more than just a touristic endeavor. It is an intricate part of the organization’s enduring mission to promote Italian history, language, and culture within the United States. This initiative serves as a living testament to the deep-seated ties that bind the two nations.
For these young ambassadors, the stay in Friuli Venezia Giulia promises to be an enlightening experience. By exploring the local customs, traditions, and historical sites, they will gain a profound understanding of their ancestry. This journey is expected to not only bolster their personal connections to their heritage but also to enhance the broader cultural bridge that NIAF strives to maintain between the U.S. and Italy.
