The Municipality of Trieste has completed the installation of new playground equipment at Blasina Garden in Opicina and the play area on Via Muratori as part of the “Extraordinary Maintenance Project for Play Areas.”
This project, identified by code 21017, began with the renewal of part of the San Michele Garden’s play area. The latest phase involved adding new equipment to Blasina Garden, adjacent to the Civic Center of Opicina, and Via Muratori. Next week, the green space on Via Muratori will undergo routine mowing, which had been delayed due to construction activities.
Opicina now has four new pieces of equipment valued at €55,000, designed for children aged 1-12 years. These include a two-tower play structure, two spring riders, and a locomotive. The area also features new anti-trauma rubber flooring, ensuring a safe environment for free, unstructured play and future enhancements.
Via Muratori’s playground has been upgraded at a cost of nearly €32,500. The new installations include a two-tower play structure, a spring rider, and a two-seat swing, with the entire play area featuring new safety flooring.
The construction work was carried out by a temporary consortium of the Trieste-based companies Mari & Mazzaroli S.p.A. and AllGreen S.r.l.
The final phase of the project will involve further improvements at two additional play areas on Via Capitolina and in the Public Garden de Tommasini. The Via Capitolina site will feature a new two-seat swing and an inclusive four-tower play structure with ramps and a rope bridge. Meanwhile, the Public Garden de Tommasini will soon house two large two-seat swings and a dual-station net course.
