In an evening set to dazzle musical theater enthusiasts, the iconic Piazza Verdi will transform into a vibrant stage for “The Academy – Final Presentation,” a highly anticipated concert showcasing the culmination of intense training by aspiring performers. The event, part of the Trieste Estate festival organized by the Municipality of Trieste, will commence at 9:00 PM.

“The Academy,” a prestigious training program founded by renowned West End stars Earl Carpenter and Ramin Karimloo, is orchestrated by the Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia. Since its inception, the program has immersed its students in a rigorous schedule of acting, dance, music, and vocal lessons, guided by some of the most esteemed figures in the international theater scene.

On this special night, attendees will witness a blend of emerging talent and seasoned expertise. The concert will feature performances by master class students alongside celebrated guest stars, including Earl Carpenter, known for his remarkable portrayal in “The Phantom of the Opera,” and West End luminaries Michela Agius, Olivia Brereton, Annette McLaughlin, Giorgia Romero, and Rohan Tickell.

The evening promises a dynamic program, showcasing a range of beloved musical numbers from classics to contemporary hits. Highlights include selections from “The Secret Garden,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Wicked,” “The Greatest Showman,” “Frozen,” and memorable pieces from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s masterpieces “Love Never Dies” and “The Phantom of the Opera.”

The concert will open with the overture from A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder performed by The Academy Students, setting a lively tone for the evening. Notable performances include Rohan Tickell’s rendition of “A Musical” from Something’s Rotten, and Earl Carpenter’s interpretation of “Race You to the Top of the Morning” from The Secret Garden.

The diverse lineup continues with “A Little Priest” from Sweeney Todd, featuring Annette McLaughlin and Rohan Tickell, and “Way Down Hadestown” performed by The Academy Students. The program also includes energetic numbers like “What is This Feeling” from Wicked and the poignant “Into the Unknown” from Frozen, highlighting the range of talent and emotional depth of the performers.

As the concert progresses, the audience will be treated to a mix of solo and ensemble performances, including “The Song That Goes Like This” from Spamalot, featuring Olivia Brereton and Earl Carpenter, and “The Music of the Night” from The Phantom of the Opera, performed by Carpenter himself. The evening will close with an uplifting rendition of “From Now On” from The Greatest Showman.
