As summer unfolds in this picturesque coastal town, Muggia is once again preparing for its much-anticipated Summer Carnival, a tradition that has been a staple of the local cultural calendar for over five decades. From August 8 to August 15, Piazzale Caliterna will transform into a hub of festivity, showcasing an array of musical performances, culinary delights, and community events.

The carnival kicks off on Thursday, August 8, at 8:00 PM with an official inauguration and remarks from local dignitaries. The evening will also feature a performance by the children from the Ricremattina of the Municipality of Muggia, followed by the awards ceremony for the 70th Carnevale Muggesano, a fishing competition, and the Calli in Fiore contest, all organized by the Pro Loco. The night will conclude with a musical aperitif hosted by local companies.

Friday, August 9, will highlight “dance & group dances” starting at 9:00 PM, featuring Mauro Manni, Carol Emme, and Niky. The following day, Saturday, August 10, will see the return of the colorful CarnivalRun at 7:00 PM, winding through the heart of Muggia. Participants can find registration details on the carnival’s website, www.carnevaldemuja.com. The awards for the CarnivalRun will follow at 8:00 PM, and at 9:00 PM, the stage will feature “Back to Rio,” a cover band performing hits from Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet.

The festivities continue on Sunday, August 11, with VogadaMata in front of Lungomare Venezia at 7:00 PM, showcasing a series of splendid creations. The Vogadamata awards will be presented at 8:30 PM, and the evening will feature “From Disco to Disco” at 9:00 PM with DJs Corrad and Sandro Giorgi.

Monday, August 12, will bring a modern twist to classics with “Nos Bend (The Boys of 34015),” performing arrangements from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s at 9:00 PM. On Tuesday, August 13, the introduction of the Muggia 1967 football team at 8:00 PM will be followed by a Musicabaret show at 9:00 PM featuring Siora Jolanda, Pasquale Abbacchio, El Mago de Umago, and Paolo Patuanelli.
