In a celebration of art and environmental reflection, the Municipal Art Hall, situated in Trieste’s iconic Piazza Unità d’Italia, will unveil the exhibition “Micromorfosi” on Tuesday, August 6, at 5 PM. The show, curated by Julian Kunhardt in collaboration with Lucia Richter, features the evocative works of Italian artist Licia Fusai.

“Micromorfosi,” which translates to “Micro-Morphoses,” promises a thought-provoking exploration of the dynamic interaction between human actions and the natural world. The exhibition aims to offer visitors a transformative experience, encouraging a deeper awareness of ecological responsibility and our role in the environment.

Central to “Micromorfosi” is the intricate relationship between the microcosm of individual lives and the macrocosm of global environmental impacts. Through Fusai’s artistic lens, each piece becomes a metaphor for nature’s resilience and vulnerability, reflecting the complexities of the human condition. The works invite viewers to challenge their understanding of the human-environment relationship, revealing how even minor actions can significantly affect the ecological balance of our planet.

Kunhardt’s curation brings together a vibrant collection of artworks that explore themes of regeneration, interconnectedness, and sustainability. Fusai’s creations delve into the concept of metamorphosis, addressing everything from the resilience required to overcome adversity to the subtle, often overlooked, influences humans exert on their surroundings.

Lucia Richter, a key collaborator, enhances the exhibition by adding interactive elements that underscore the cyclical nature of daily choices and their environmental consequences. Her contributions aim to clarify how these choices ripple through our lives, shaping our collective and personal futures.

Fusai’s works explore nourishment in both physical and spiritual dimensions, seeking a dialogue between matter and spirit. Her art transforms material consumption into a means of spiritual enrichment, while also presenting a new perspective on aesthetic fulfillment. The choice of materials and subjects reflects a celebration of Earth’s vitality through abstract representation, inviting viewers to engage their “senses of the soul” with greater freedom.

As Fusai’s artistic journey progresses, she continues to experiment with color and form, pushing beyond traditional visual art boundaries. Her smaller canvases, akin to notes in an artistic journal, capture an instinctive connection with nature, while her larger works demonstrate technical mastery and bold compositional choices.

“Micromorfosi” will be on view from August 7 to 26, with visiting hours from 10 AM to 1 PM and 3 PM to 8 PM daily. Admission is free.
