The municipality of Trieste is urging residents to take precautions as atmospheric ozone levels in the area have surpassed the safety threshold.

Current measurements indicate that ozone concentrations have exceeded the 120 micrograms per cubic meter mark, prompting local authorities to issue a health advisory.

Residents, particularly those in vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions, are advised to limit their exposure to outdoor air until at least Monday, August 12. The city council’s recommendation comes in response to ongoing high ozone levels, which pose potential health risks.

This warning follows an initial notification sent out by the city government, informing the public of the elevated ozone concentrations. The municipality is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary to ensure the well-being of its citizens.
