In a bid to deepen public understanding of marine environments, Trieste is set to host a unique sea-watching event, “Passeggiando s’impara,” on September 14 in Barcola. The event, which opens for reservations on August 26, will explore the complex interplay between human activities and marine ecosystems.
Themed “The Impact of Human Activity on the Environment: Negative and Positive Consequences of Marine Anthropization,” the event will be led by Andrea Gergic, an esteemed ichthyologist from the Civic Marine Aquarium. Participants will engage in a guided seawatching experience, emphasizing the significance of human influence on marine environments.
The program is tailored for swimmers, with mandatory masks and recommended fins to enhance safety and visibility. The visit will be organized into two distinct shifts: the first beginning at 11:00 AM and the second at 12:15 PM. Due to limited availability, early registration is strongly encouraged to secure a spot.
To participate, individuals must email their reservations to sportellonatura@comune.trieste.it. The event aims to not only educate but also inspire greater environmental stewardship among attendees.
