The Regional Administration of Friuli Venezia Giulia is continuing its commitment to combating gender violence with a new initiative in 2024, announcing the availability of €300,000 in funding for special projects aimed at addressing gender-based violence, with a particular focus on violence against women.
Regional Councilor Alessia Rosolen, responsible for Labor, Education, Training, and Family, revealed the details of the new funding program. This call for proposals is set to support municipalities within the region in their efforts to raise awareness about gender violence. The projects funded will be designed to align with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, observed annually on November 25.
Municipalities are invited to apply for funding to support initiatives such as conferences, workshops, public installations, or performances aimed at increasing public awareness. The grants will range from €2,000 to €5,000, depending on the scope of the project and the population size of the municipality. Applications must be submitted by October 4, 2024.
Rosolen emphasized that the program aims to foster community engagement through public events held over a maximum of six days, which can be scheduled non-consecutively within a six-week period. The projects should include a partnership agreement with women’s associations managing anti-violence centers within the national network “DiRE – Women in Network Against Violence,” or third-sector entities dedicated to promoting gender equality and supporting female employment.
Interested parties can find the application form and additional information on the Regional Administration’s website or by contacting the Department of Labor directly at their PEC mailbox (lavoro@certregione.fvg.it).
This initiative underscores the region’s ongoing commitment to addressing gender-based violence and supporting efforts to create safer and more equitable communities.
