Today, the small Slovenian-speaking village of Draga Sant’Elia, near Trieste, will host its annual Draga in Festa, an open-air celebration of sustainable agriculture and local craft skills. From 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, villagers will open their courtyards to visitors, offering handmade goods and produce, while showcasing traditional and eco-friendly practices.

Now in its ninth year, the event highlights the intersection of tradition and sustainability, with support from the Municipality of San Dorligo della Valle – Dolina. The festival aims to foster dialogue on the future of food and farming, drawing visitors interested in rural life and environmental solutions.

With its focus on small-scale sustainability, Draga in Festa provides an intimate, hands-on look at how rural communities can thrive in harmony with nature. Admission is free, and the festival runs throughout the day.
