The city of Gorizia, nestled in Friuli Venezia Giulia, is set to take a dramatic turn on the global stage with an announcement that internationally acclaimed rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars will perform a highly anticipated concert next summer as part of the Go!2025 European Capital of Culture celebrations. The Californian rock band, fronted by actor and musician Jared Leto, is expected to draw thousands of fans to the area, placing Gorizia, and the entire region, in the international spotlight.

Scheduled for Thursday, July 3, at the Casa Rossa Arena, the concert marks a key moment in Gorizia’s year-long celebration as the European Capital of Culture, an honor shared with the Slovenian city of Nova Gorica. The project is designed to bring global cultural prominence to the area, with Thirty Seconds to Mars providing a powerful entry point for fans worldwide to experience Friuli Venezia Giulia.

“It will be an honor to host Thirty Seconds to Mars in concert in Gorizia,” said Massimiliano Fedriga, the governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in a statement. “We’re talking about an internationally renowned rock band, whose popularity will bring thousands of fans to discover our region. Our aim from the beginning has been to raise awareness and boost the appeal not only of Gorizia but of all Friuli Venezia Giulia. The Capital of Culture designation has offered us a unique opportunity to organize high-profile events that will create lasting growth and development for the region.”

The Go!2025 program, which is expected to feature music, art, and cultural experiences, has a varied lineup designed to engage a broad audience, appealing to all ages. Fedriga expressed hopes that the cultural offerings would provide visitors with a memorable experience, encouraging them to return home with vivid memories of the people, places, and flavors of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The concert comes as part of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s extensive investment in the Capital of Culture initiative, with an investment exceeding 140 million euros. Fedriga noted that the Go!2025 program also includes a parallel series of events titled “Go!2025&Friends,” intended to bring the celebrations to communities across the region with its own set of culturally rich programs.

Tickets for the Thirty Seconds to Mars concert will go on general sale on Thursday, October 31, at 10 a.m., available on major ticketing platforms including Ticketmaster, Ticketone, and Vivaticket. Organizers are expecting a strong response from fans both within Italy and abroad.

With its sights set on cultural legacy, Friuli Venezia Giulia is betting that a concert of this scale, along with a year of cultural programming, will cement the region’s place as a burgeoning cultural destination in Europe.
