The University of Trieste is celebrating its centennial with an exhibition titled “1924-2024: A Century of History of the University of Trieste – Images and Documents.” Set within the iconic Bastione Fiorito at the Castle of San Giusto, the exhibition offers a curated journey through the university’s history and legacy. Nearly 15,000 people have visited since its opening, with Sunday, November 10 as the last day.
The exhibit features:
- Historical Archives – Images, documents, and videos tracing the university’s growth and regional impact.
- Architecture Showcase – A look at the central university building, designed in 1938 with symbolic elements.
- Rediscovered Film – Pagine d’Università (1956) by Trieste-born filmmaker Anna Gruber.
- Art Collection – Paintings and works from the university’s 1953 art exhibit and pieces donated for the centenary.
A free guided tour will be held on the exhibit’s final day, November 10, at 11 a.m. The exhibition is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with entry included in the Castle of San Giusto ticket (€6 general, €4 reduced).
