Trieste’s Maritime Station has set a new milestone, welcoming over 500,000 cruise passengers this year, marking a 5% increase compared to 2023. The achievement, reported by Trieste Terminal Passeggeri (TTP), was reached during the most recent weekend, further solidifying the city’s reputation as a top destination for cruise travelers.
With 177,540 passengers boarding, 176,586 disembarking, and 147,686 transiting through, the numbers reflect a significant growth in maritime tourism. TTP highlighted that the city’s strategic location and efficient port services have contributed to this record-breaking performance, bolstering Trieste’s role as a key player in Italy’s tourism sector.
“This achievement underscores Trieste’s appeal as a major tourist destination,” said a spokesperson for TTP. “It generates employment and adds substantial value to the services dedicated to passengers, benefiting the local economy.”
