Hundreds of people marched in Trieste tonight as part of a nationwide initiative organized by the group Non Una Di Meno Trieste. The demonstration, held under the slogan “Disarm the Patriarchy,” aimed to address gender-based violence and broader issues related to social and environmental justice.

Participants highlighted the need to combat violence in various forms, including domestic violence, systemic oppression, and environmental harm. They also expressed solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in their advocacy.

The march also included criticisms of recent policies by the Italian government. Protesters voiced concerns about changes they say undermine women’s rights and support structures, including funding for feminist anti-violence centers and access to abortion services. Concerns were also raised about the criminalization of surrogacy.

The event is part of a larger movement in Italy, bringing attention to the intersections of gender equality, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion. As demonstrators walked through Trieste’s streets, their focus was on raising awareness and fostering dialogue on these issues.
