Residents of Trieste and surrounding areas are being advised to prepare for potential disruptions in utility services on Friday, November 29, due to a nationwide general strike. The industrial action, called by several Italian trade unions, is expected to affect operations across sectors, including public utilities managed by AcegasApsAmga, the region’s multi-utility provider.

In a statement, AcegasApsAmga warned that delays or interruptions could impact a range of services, including customer support through call centers. However, the company assured residents that minimum services mandated by Italian law would be maintained throughout the strike.

“Our emergency services, which operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, will remain fully active to address urgent needs,” the company added. Normal operations are expected to resume once the strike ends.

The strike is part of broader labor unrest in Italy, as unions protest a range of issues, including inflation, job security, and public sector reforms. While the impact of Friday’s strike remains to be seen, residents are encouraged to plan ahead and rely on emergency numbers for urgent matters.

Local authorities have emphasized their commitment to minimizing disruptions and maintaining essential services during the industrial action.
