The Municipality of Trieste has announced that the Chiarbola Tunnel, a key thoroughfare located on Via Carnaro, will be closed to vehicular traffic next week to allow for essential maintenance work.

The closure will take effect from Monday, Dec. 9, to Friday, Dec. 13, during the overnight hours of 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Municipal officials emphasized that the measure is necessary to ensure the safety and functionality of the city’s infrastructure.

During the day, traffic flow through the tunnel will be restored, minimizing disruption to commuters and residents. Drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly and consider alternative paths during the nighttime hours of the maintenance period.

The maintenance project is part of a broader effort to upgrade and sustain the city’s network of tunnels, ensuring their reliability for years to come.

For updates on this and other public works projects, residents can visit the municipality’s website or follow local news outlets.
