The ice skating rink in Piazza Ponterosso was officially opened on Saturday in the presence of Deputy Mayor and Economic Policies Commissioner Serena Tonel.
Deputy Mayor and Commissioner Tonel stated, “With this initiative, the Municipality of Trieste aims to provide not only residents but also tourists visiting during the holiday season with an additional attraction, combining entertainment and sports value, given Trieste’s rich tradition in skating. The rink represents an additional, albeit temporary, sports facility available to the city.”
The ice skating rink will be open until January 14, from 10 am to 8 pm from Monday to Thursday, and from 10 am to 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
The rates, including skate rental, are as follows:
- $8 per hour for adults
- $5 per hour for children under 12
- Additional $3 per hour for “first steps support” (penguins, dolphins, and similar aids)
- $40 for a full-price membership card (5 entries plus 1 complimentary)
- $25 for a reduced-price membership card (5 entries plus 1 complimentary)
- Schools can book at a discounted price by calling 040 9235184.
