The Civic Museum of Natural History in Trieste will host a guided tour, The History of Life on Earth, on Sunday, January 5, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Led by guide Marco Paparot and organized by Ecothema, this event highlights the museum’s unique fossil collection and evolutionary timeline.
Visitors will explore the origins of life, from unicellular organisms to humans, with key artifacts such as the dinosaur fossils Antonio and Bruno. The guided tour will use interactive tools like the “Prehistoric Clock” to illustrate pivotal moments in evolution, offering insights into biological adaptations and species diversification.
Part of the Science for Everyone series, the event is the second in a three-part initiative designed to engage audiences of all ages with Trieste’s scientific and cultural heritage. Admission to the museum is free, with a fee for the guided tour: €8 for adults, €5 for children aged 6 to 12, and free for younger children.
The final event in the series, Wow, What Teeth!, scheduled for February 2, will examine the evolution and diversity of teeth in the animal kingdom. The program will feature notable specimens, including elephant tusks, a narwhal tooth, and shark teeth, as well as a hands-on workshop with dental molds.
The Civic Museum of Natural History is located at Via dei Tominz, 4.
