Trieste will kick off a new reading group on Monday, February 3, at 6:00 PM, hosted at the Spazio Forum of Museo LETS in Piazza Hortis 4. The group, titled In Prima Persona, will explore literature through the lens of both personal and collective perspectives.
The first meeting will center on In Everything There Was Beauty by Spanish author Manuel Vilas, blending autobiography and fiction to examine the intersection of individual and societal destiny. According to Mavis Toffoletto, head of the Trieste Pact for Reading and the group’s coordinator, the goal of the reading group is to foster discussion around themes that emerge from each book, encouraging curiosity and dialogue among participants.
The meetings, free and open to the public, will be held on the first Monday of each month, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The group is designed for readers of all backgrounds, with attendees encouraged to contribute books and ideas for future discussions.
The group will also define its structure and select future readings during the first session. The meetings will take place at the Museo LETS, a space that combines both library and museum, and aims to foster connections with the past, present, and future.
