The Municipality of Muggia is introducing two dance events for teenagers during this year’s Carnival, which will take place at the Pacco municipal gym. The free initiative is designed to engage young people and provide a safe environment for socializing and entertainment.

Nicola Delconte, the deputy mayor of Muggia and Carnival delegate, shared details of the new events. “We will also bring back the ‘Doll Dance,’ which was reinstated last year and received a positive response from families. It’s a special event for younger children that garnered a lot of interest,” Delconte said.
In addition to the dance events, there will be entertainment in the town’s central square, aimed at children. The 71st edition of Muggia’s Carnival will be officially presented, along with the participating Compagnie, at a press conference scheduled for February 15.
Gianna Birnberg, Muggia’s municipal councilor, highlighted the lack of events specifically targeting adolescents. “There was a gap in events for this age group, and it’s important to offer initiatives tailored to their interests,” Birnberg said. “The music will reflect their tastes, and we hope these events will provide a safe space for them to enjoy themselves.”
Birnberg also noted that additional initiatives for young people will be announced in the coming months, continuing the efforts by the local administration to expand programming for this age group.
The “Doll Dance” for children, which returned after a hiatus last year, proved to be a popular addition to the Carnival festivities. A photo from the 2024 event is included below.
