The regional government of Friuli Venezia Giulia has announced a comprehensive industrial support strategy, allocating €291 million ($315 million) over six years to bolster economic growth and attract investment. The plan, part of the FVG Manifattura 2030 agenda, includes incentives for business expansion, digital and energy transition, and internationalization.

L’assessore alle Attività produttive Sergio Emidio Bini oggi in Consiglio regionale.

Regional Councilor for Productive Activities Sergio Emidio Bini outlined the initiative in a recent address to the Regional Council, emphasizing its focus on sustainability and innovation. “This is an ambitious plan, not a ‘dream book’—in just two months, we have programmed €107.5 million in interventions, allowing us to launch 11 calls for proposals to support local businesses,” Bini said.

Investment Breakdown

The plan includes several targeted funding initiatives, among them:

  • €50 million from European funds for innovation and sustainability projects, to be launched in 2025.
  • €15 million for hydrogen production from renewable sources, with funding expected to open in the spring.
  • €15 million for solar energy projects.
  • €9 million in incentives for businesses to establish operations in regional industrial consortia.
  • €13 million for industrial research and new technology development.
  • €5 million for circular economy transition projects.

A separate €15 million initiative to support sustainability-focused projects in the tourism sector is already open and will run through March 31.

Industrial Growth and Job Creation

Since 2018, the region has allocated nearly €291 million to industrial consortia, a move that has driven significant private investment. According to Bini, these measures have helped attract €477 million in private sector investment—five timesthe public funding provided—and created an estimated 1,317 new jobs.

The regional government aims to further develop industrial infrastructure, facilitate business expansion, and transition industrial consortia from property managers to service providers for companies and workers.

“We are seeing strong demand for industrial space,” Bini said, noting that over 92% of designated areas have already been allocated. The region plans to create additional opportunities for businesses looking to establish operations in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The FVG Manifattura 2030 agenda is part of a broader effort to strengthen the region’s economic position, balancing industrial growth with sustainability and technological advancement.
