The Municipality of Trieste has unveiled a new logo for the ‘Vivi Trieste’ Commerce District and announced the recipients of a €200,000 business grant aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. The initiative, launched a year ago, is designed to foster local commerce, digitalization, and urban revitalization.
Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Economic Policies Serena Tonel emphasized the program’s impact, noting that 35 of the 43 submitted grant applications were approved, demonstrating strong interest in innovation and sustainability. The grants are focused on businesses in the San Giacomo, Roiano, and connecting areas.
The district’s newly revealed circular logo features a heart, an alabarda, and colors symbolizing the sea, wind, vegetation, and Karst landscape. “It represents inclusivity and community, encouraging residents to support local commerce,” Tonel stated.
Beyond financial support, the initiative includes urban upgrades such as fiber-optic expansion for WiFi and surveillance, as well as new public amenities like bike-sharing stations, benches, and planters. Community events such as Natale a Roiano and Crafts Trieste further promote engagement.
Confcommercio Trieste President Antonio Paoletti highlighted the broader mission to enhance both business competitiveness and the city’s public spaces. “This program strengthens economic growth while improving aesthetics, functionality, and security,” he said.
With continued investment and strong business participation, the ‘Vivi Trieste’ initiative aims to revitalize Trieste’s commercial landscape.
