A devoted Ferrari fan who went to extreme lengths for a better glimpse of Formula 1 stars Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc at the Fiorano test track now faces a hefty fine and potential legal consequences.

The man, clad in a red cowboy hat, climbed atop a ladder and used an electric saw to cut down a tree and several branches obstructing his view of the high-profile test session. Spectators, eager for a clear sight of Ferrari’s newest contender, the SF-2025, cheered him on. However, the spectacle did not go unnoticed by authorities.

Viral video footage of the episode allowed police to swiftly identify the individual, who could face a fine of up to €600. According to Corriere della Sera, he may also be charged with damage to property—an offense under Italian law that carries a penalty ranging from six months to three years in prison.

The incident took place near Maranello in Italy’s northern Emilia-Romagna region and drew sharp condemnation from both local authorities in Fiorano Modenese and environmental groups. Officials expressed concern over the reckless act, emphasizing the importance of protecting public and private green spaces.

Meanwhile, Ferrari’s test session continued uninterrupted, with Hamilton and Leclerc alternating turns behind the wheel of the team’s latest Formula 1 machine. The legendary racing team is striving to end a 17-year championship drought, with high hopes that their new car will bring them back to the top of the sport.
