While schools in Trieste will be closed for the 2025 Carnival break from March 3 to 5, the city’s Ricreatori — community centers for children — will remain open to keep young residents engaged and entertained.

From 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, children can participate in a variety of creative workshops, including mask-making and costume design, as part of the city’s Carnival celebrations. These activities offer a fun and educational way for kids to connect with the traditional festivities, all while staying active and creative during the school closure.

The Municipal Educational Services has made the Ricreatori an essential part of the Carnival season, providing a safe environment where children can enjoy hands-on arts and crafts. “The Ricreatori offer a great opportunity for kids to continue learning and creating during the break,” said a city spokesperson.
