The Italian government has finalized the establishment of a Simplified Logistics Zone (ZLS) for the northeastern region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, a move aimed at facilitating investment and economic development in designated areas.

The measure, which has been under discussion for some time, is intended to provide administrative simplifications and tax incentives for businesses operating within the designated logistics zones. Companies in these areas will have access to benefits linked to local investments, including a newly introduced tax credit. The initiative is open to businesses of all legal structures and accounting regimes, regardless of whether they are already established or planning to expand within the logistics zones.

According to government officials, the ZLS tax credit represents one of the most significant measures designed to support businesses in these zones. The provision is part of broader efforts to enhance economic growth and attract investment in strategic sectors of the region.

The government’s decision has been welcomed by officials in Friuli Venezia Giulia, who have emphasized its potential to strengthen the local economy. Minister for Relations with Parliament Luca Ciriani acknowledged the role of various government figures in advancing the initiative, including Minister Andrea Foti, who oversaw its completion, and Minister Raffaele Fitto, who initiated the process.

The introduction of the Simplified Logistics Zone aligns with broader national policies aimed at fostering regional economic competitiveness. The effectiveness of the initiative will depend on its implementation and the extent to which businesses take advantage of the available incentives.
