The regional government of Friuli Venezia Giulia has expanded its Dote Famiglia program, a financial assistance initiative aimed at supporting families with minor children. Under the new provisions, an additional lump sum of €100 per child will be granted, supplementing the existing €500 per child annual allowance. The adjustment, which does not require families to provide documentation of expenses, is designed to offer more flexible financial support.
Regional authorities have allocated €90 million to the program over a three-year period, with the goal of easing the financial burden on families and promoting access to educational, cultural, and recreational activities for children. Alessia Rosolen, the region’s councillor for labor, education, training, and family, described the initiative as a broader effort to enhance opportunities for minors while supporting household purchasing power.
“This measure has been a structural part of our policies for some time,” Ms. Rosolen said. “Applications will open on April 1 and can be submitted at any time until December 31.”
The Dote Famiglia program provides financial assistance for a range of services, including extracurricular educational programs, summer camps, academic support, foreign language courses, cultural events, tourism-related activities such as school trips, and artistic or athletic training. Families can apply for the allowance online through the regional government’s dedicated portal. Those who are not yet holders of the Carta Famiglia, a prerequisite for application, can request it simultaneously.
Applications must be submitted once per year, covering all expenses incurred between January 1 and December 31 of the current year. Documentation is required to verify spending, except for the new €100 lump sum per child, which is granted unconditionally. Additionally, households that include a person with a disability will receive a one-time supplemental payment of €100.
With its latest expansion, the Dote Famiglia program continues to be a key component of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s efforts to support families, reinforcing broader national discussions on family policies and economic stability in Italy.
