Snow lovers looking for a late-season getaway will have an extra reason to celebrate this spring. Sella Nevea, one of Italy’s premier ski resorts, will extend its season beyond the scheduled closure date, welcoming visitors for a special Easter weekend opening from April 19 to 21.

The decision comes as a result of recent snowfall and consistently low temperatures, allowing the mountain to maintain prime skiing conditions. “This is a great gift for all snow enthusiasts at the end of what is shaping up to be a record-breaking winter season for Friuli Venezia Giulia,” said Sergio Emidio Bini, the region’s Councillor for Tourism.

While most of the region’s ski resorts will close as planned on March 30, Sella Nevea will continue operations through April 13 before reopening for Easter weekend. The move reflects growing demand, as the resort has already recorded 51,215 first-time entries and 480,120 total lift passes this season—an increase of 7.7% and 9.1%, respectively, compared to last year.

To sweeten the deal, Sella Nevea will offer low-season pricing for its final days. A full-day ski pass will cost €31 ($34), while seniors (65+) will pay €27.50 ($30). Young skiers under 19 can enjoy the slopes for just €10 ($11). Hourly passes will also see discounts, with three-hour tickets available for €22 ($24) and five-hour options for €27.50 ($30).

With extended skiing and springtime festivities on the horizon, Sella Nevea’s decision is expected to draw both locals and international visitors eager to carve out a few more runs before the season officially ends.
