Governor Massimiliano Fedriga reaffirmed the strategic role of Friuli Venezia Giulia Strade (FVG Strade), the region’s publicly owned road management company, during a visit to its Trieste headquarters on Monday. Speaking with employees and company leadership, Fedriga emphasized the regional government’s commitment to investing in road infrastructure while ensuring responsible management of resources.
“FVG Strade is a key asset for Friuli Venezia Giulia, and we believe in its mission,” Fedriga said. “Managing such an extensive network requires significant responsibility.”
FVG Strade oversees more than 1,000 kilometers of roads across the region and has a workforce of 183 employees. In 2024 alone, the company managed 74 construction projects aimed at improving road conditions. Looking ahead, the company plans to enhance safety through road resurfacing, updated signage, and improved barriers. It is also prioritizing sustainability by increasing the use of recycled materials and aims to implement an advanced traffic monitoring system by 2026 using sensor technology.
Fedriga acknowledged the challenges of road management, particularly given the high level of public and governmental scrutiny. He stressed the importance of balancing immediate infrastructure needs with long-term planning in a complex regulatory environment.
During the visit, the governor met with FVG Strade’s newly appointed board president, Simone Bortolotti, as well as board member Michele Leon. He expressed gratitude to the company’s employees for their efforts and reaffirmed the regional government’s ongoing support for infrastructure improvements.
