Author Jasmine Leigh Quan will meet readers and sign copies of her book The Gift of Gigia at the Ubik bookstore in Galleria Tergesteo on Saturday, March 29, at 5:00 p.m. The event will feature the book’s feline protagonist, Gigia, in what organizers describe as an unconventional book signing.
Quan’s book explores the deep bond between a woman and her cat, reflecting on the transformative power of companionship. In a statement, the author described Gigia as more than just a pet, calling her “a confidante, a healer, and an irreplaceable companion.”
Before turning to writing, Quan worked in the fashion industry before shifting her focus to wildlife conservation. She is the founder of the Southern China Tiger Project, a conservation initiative. Her background in feline behavior has also enabled her to train Gigia in acrobatic tricks, an element that may feature in the upcoming event.
