A new initiative aimed at helping young people under the age of 35 enter the workforce will take place on Tuesday, May 13 at the Polo Giovani Toti in Trieste. Organized by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region in collaboration with the Youth Area Project of the Municipality of Trieste, the “Recruiting Day Young” event will offer participants the opportunity to meet directly with recruiters from four major employers: Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, Calzedonia, Roadhouse, and Conad.
Registration for the event is open until Saturday, May 11.
“This initiative is a strategic tool for facilitating young people’s entry into the job market,” said Alessia Rosolen, Regional Councillor for Labor, during a press conference alongside Maurizio De Blasio, Councillor for Education and Family Policies for the Municipality of Trieste.
The event is being coordinated by the Region’s Business Services Department and the Trieste municipal government, with the support of Europe Direct Trieste-Eurodesk, a local EU information center.
Participants will have the opportunity to take part in brief, one-on-one interviews in the style of “speed dating,” where they can hand in their résumés and speak directly with company representatives. Each of the participating businesses is seeking to hire for a variety of roles.
- Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), part of Italy’s state railway group, has a wide range of job openings available, listed on the company’s website under the “Work with Us” section: Ferrovie dello Stato Careers.
- Roadhouse is primarily recruiting kitchen and floor staff.
- Calzedonia and Conad B2C Supermercati Sistiana are seeking retail personnel for their stores.
“The initiative responds to strong demand from young people in the Giulian area,” Rosolen said, “and aims to offer them a direct channel to engage with a range of businesses operating in different sectors.”
The Recruiting Day represents a growing trend of local institutions working closely with businesses to create accessible employment pathways for younger generations.
For more information and to register, interested participants are encouraged to contact the organizers before the May 11 deadline.
