Trieste Airport has reported strong financial results for 2024 and reaffirmed its board of directors as part of a continued strategy to strengthen public-private partnerships and support regional development in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The airport’s shareholders’ assembly, held Monday in Ronchi dei Legionari, approved the company’s financial statements for 2024 and confirmed the outgoing board for another three-year term, through 2027. Antonio Marano will remain as president, alongside CEO Marco Consalvo and board members Rita Cozzi, Roberta Neri, and Laura Pascotto.
The 2024 fiscal year closed with a profit of €4.8 million, up significantly from €3.2 million in 2023. Gross investments reached €12 million, with €7.7 million financed internally. The airport also reported a substantial increase in passenger traffic, totaling 1,319,813 passengers for the year — a 41.5% rise over 2023.
The number of routes has expanded from 15 in 2023 to 22 in 2024, with a further increase to 27 expected by year’s end.
Regional Finance Councillor Barbara Zilli, who attended the assembly, welcomed the results as evidence of effective governance and a successful model of cooperation between the public and private sectors. The Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia holds a 45% stake in the company.
“Trieste Airport continues to improve its financial performance and operational metrics, thanks to a winning strategy focused on collaboration, advanced skills, and a shared vision for the region’s competitiveness and attractiveness,” Zilli said.
She added that the growth in air traffic and connectivity is having a positive impact on tourism and the broader economy, trends that the regional government is committed to further supporting through continued investment.
