Comune di Trieste launched Trieste Color Saturdays initiative staring July 18th.

White, yellow, red, green, blue, black and orange are the colors chosen to repaint the city of Trieste for six Saturdays in July, August, September and October, with the initiative called Trieste Color Saturdays.

The events are promoted by Comune di Trieste along with Confcommercio and the FIPE of Trieste, and aim at supporting businesses, in commercial and public sector, which have been hit the hardest during the Covid-19 emergency.

The initiative hopes “to enliven the city, involving citizens and traders in a play of colors that will give Trieste a special look, in order to attract visitors and customers from the rest of the region or even from across the border”, commented Serena Tonel, the Municipal Councilor for economic activities and one of the organizers of the events.

Comune invites all citizens to take part in the colorful Saturdays by dressing up in the color of the day. All shops, bars and restaurants participating in the initiative will be transformed.

There will be special discounts on the goods of the predetermined color reserved for customers who will embrace the spirit of the day. Every Saturday, starting from 5.30 pm on, Trieste will be entertained by street artists and numerous events, in compliance with the regulations in force.

All shops will remain open until 10 pm during these Saturday events, and on August 1st all shops will remain open until midnight.

The colors are:
– 18th July: white;
– 1st August (Night of Sales): yellow/gold;
– 22nd August: red;
– 5th September: green;
– October 3rd: blue;
– October 31st: black/orange.
