Police in Trieste to curb gatherings as the coronavirus numbers rise again.

Trieste police are to patrol areas of the city associated with nightlife during this weekend – the first after Friuli Venezia Giulia saw a drastic increase in numbers since the beginning of summer, reports Il Piccolo.

Police officers will be tasked with ensuring that people comply with FVG‘s measures to contain the spread of the infamous virus, including a ban on gatherings, masks wearing and social distancing.

Checks will be carried out in the so-called “movida” spots including Via TorinoViale XX SettembrePiazetta Barbacan and downtown Trieste, with additional patrols in parks and along the coast.
