Health Minister Roberto Speranza signed a new ordinance late Friday night which moves Friuli Venezia Giulia back into the yellow zone starting Monday, January 11th.
The new national decree, which will be in effect from 11 January to 15 January 2021 at least, restates several points included in the national decree of 3 December.
The decree also includes the following additional rules and recommendations:
Masks & face coverings
Face coverings must always be worn (not simply carried) when outside your home.
Exceptions: individuals who are exercising, children under six-years-old, and individuals with medical conditions which prevent the wear of face coverings.
This now means that you would need to wear a face covering anytime you are outside, even in situations where you believe you are isolated, such as walking in the woods. However, don’t need to wear a face covering when you are alone in a private office.
It is not mandatory to wear a mask if you are in the car alone or with cohabitants, but you must wear a mask while traveling with non – cohabitants.
Physical activity outside
Physical activity (such as running, cycling, etc.) is permitted, but it is recommended that you conduct them in open, uncrowded areas (e.g., outside of the city or town squares).
Remember to maintain 2 meters of physical distance from non-cohabitants when exercising or playing an individual sport and 1 meter of physical distance during other activities.
Restaurants and bars
Restaurants and bars can only serve food and drinks to customers in one of the establishment’s seats from 11 am until closing at 6 pm. Seating can be inside or outside.
Restaurants will be posting the maximum number of customers allowed inside.
You cannot consume food in public places where gatherings could occur (e.g., a town square).
Shops
Only one person per household can enter a grocery or food store.
Exception: A person may be accompanied by minors under 14 and/or persons with disabilities.
Stores are to reserve the hours of 10 am to 12 pm for people over 65-years-old.
There might be additional limitations on the number of customers that can enter a store.
Only one customer can enter a store of 40 square meters or less.
Stores will be posting the number of customers allowed inside at any one time.
FVG’s president Massimiliano Fedriga reminded everyone that the return back to the yellow zone doesn’t mean “you are free to do whatever you want” and called for collective responsibility in fight against the virus.
