The park of the Miramare Castle has reopened its doors after the initial closure, reports il Piccolo.

The Miramare Castle and its grounds were initially closed after the new decree issued on 19 December came in force, which placed Trieste, along with the rest of Italy, in the red zone.

However, the director of the Miramare Museum, Andreina Contessa’s, request to leave the Miramare park open has been accepted. Miramare is not only a museum, but a “green area” that “should be open to public.”

“The therapeutic value of a walk on Miramare’s grounds is evident” underlined Contessa

Come spring, all of the renovations of the park are expected to be finished and open to public.

Miramare Castle’s gardens are free to visit daily from 8 am to 4 pm.
