Thank you Theresa to the introduction to Ulysses as well as to the lovely city of Trieste. Even though I was an English major, I had never read this novel by Joyce. You have wet my appetite to pick up the book and to visit your beautiful town, home to my husband’s grandmother.

Thank you for this presentation. Hearing about Joyce’s history and his time in Trieste helped to bring Ulysses’s writing to life. The bustling modern setting, and view of the bridge in the background, served as a virtual bridge from the past to the present. Joyce’s quotes are as relevant now as they were when first published!
