These days in Trieste are a blur. There’s no right way to cope with the lockdown and all the horrible news coming our way. None of us has ever done this before and there is no rulebook to follow. Here in Italy the outbreak is relentless and we get bad, horrible, no good news every single day. It’s heartbreaking and exhausting. We all try to keep as positive attitude as possible but anxiety is very real for some.
We went out to get food earlier, streets are deserted, everyone is wearing masks, almost nobody at Eataly store. The food is there but so is the palpable tension. Nobody knows when it’s going to end but everyone hopes it ends soon. If there was ever a test of ourselves and our communities, this is it. Being at home is easy, but the uncertainty is daunting. We will all get to the other side if we help each other out. Life is handing a lot of lemons right now. Hang in there.
On the bright side, bora is returning tomorrow with her 80 km per hour zealousness and for the first time in a very long time we can’t wait to have her back.
