The beach towns of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Grado and Lignano, received a lot of bookings for this summer season following the announcement by PM Draghi that Italy is about to welcome tourists before the rest of Europe.
PM Draghi announced in his speech on Monday that Italy will allow tourists to enter quarantine-free as soon as this month, saying the country is “ready to welcome back the world”.
Visitors who have had an EU-approved Covid-19 vaccine, recovered from the disease or tested negative 48 hours prior to travelling will be allowed entry without restrictions, a tourism ministry source said.
Following this announcement, beachside hotels in the beautiful town of Grado and the hip Lignano instantly got a lot of foreign bookings.
Mario Draghi added: “The time has come to book your holidays in Italy,” adding: “Our mountains, our beaches, our cities are reopening.”
