The long-awaited by many restauranteurs announcement has arrived from the Italian government: the nightly curfew is to be phased out gradually over the next few weeks.
As Italy begins to ease its Covid-19 restrictions, the 10 pm – 5 am curfew is pushed back to 11 pm in the country’s moderate-risk yellow zones (starting May 18th).
From June 7th, the curfew will be push back to midnight and on June 21st it will be scrapped entirely.
Moreover, Friuli Venezia Giualia is to enter the lowest classified risk zone, the so-called white zone, on June 1st with the least stringent covid restrictions applying – only rules relating to masks and social distancing – and no curfew.
What are the other new rules?
22 May Shopping malls and commercial centers can reopen at weekends and on holidays
22 May Ski lifts and mountain resorts can reopen
24 May Gyms can reopen
1 June Competition sports can resume, with spectators allowed up to 25% of the full capacity but not exceeding 500 people indoors (1000 outdoors)
1 June Restaurants and bars can open for lunch and dinner indoors as well as outdoors
15 June Weddings can be held starting from this date, under the green pass system, with guests required to show proof of vaccinations or negative Covid test
15 June Theme parks can reopen
1 July Indoor swimming pools can reopen
1 July Amusement arcades, betting rooms and casinos can reopen
