I grew up in a coal mining family in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and after obtaining a Ph.D. in neurophysiology at the University of Sheffield worked in research at the University of California at Los Angeles. I became a professor at the University of Toronto, Canada, before settling into teaching for thirty years at a college in British Columbia. Retired, I reside with Janet and two tabby cats on Vancouver Island where I rode a Honda 500, a Yamaha FZR 600, and a Suzuki 800 motorbike until Janet took away my helmet. I’ve published three thrillers under the name of George Henry: Blood Rain in Trieste (2015) and its recent sequel, Trapped in Trieste (2021); Recycled Love (2017) was based on a trip I made across India to Nepal, including a trek up to Everest Base Camp.
